About us

Located in the small village of Great Gonerby, on the B1174 just outside the historic town of Grantham.  Close to Belton House, Woolsthorpe Manor & Downtown Superstore. The Recruiting Sergeant has been serving award winning local ales and hearty food to the community for decades. Alison Mavros and her team offer excellent home cooked food. You'll always find a friendly, warm welcome here in this Pub which has become the centre point of the Village and is the ideal place to relax and unwind after a busy day.

Our locally sourced, fresh food is expertly prepared by our chefs for your enjoyment. We provide traditional, hearty meals such as our Steak & Ale Pie with onions and mushrooms, in Everards Tiger ale topped with puff pastry.
